Ballet of the Dolls’ Goldilocks & Little Red Riding Hood is a fun, family-friendly show designed to introduce kids to the exciting world of professional dance. It stars Goldilocks, a golden-haired mischief-maker and housebreaker, and Little Red Riding Hood, a good yet naïve girl who really should have taken her mother’s advice about avoiding strangers.
In typical Dolls fashion, the two famous stories collide and careen into all-new territory. It begins with an unhappy encounter for Little Red Riding Hood, aka Red, who had been dancing merrily along the path to Grandmother’s house. Soft whimpering noises stop her. Could they be coming from that pile of leaves? Clearing the leaves, an astonished Red discovers a small blond girl locked in a cage, begging for release.
Once free, however, naughty Goldilocks adds robbery to her long string of crimes. She steals Red’s basket and flees into the woods. Red gives chase, and thus begins their thrilling adventures of flight and pursuit, magical encounters and a true fairy tale ending.
