The Ritz is gathering its friends from the 13th Avenue
community and beyond at Rockin’ the Ritz. This event kicks off a 2-year Capital Campaign, dedicated to completing restoration of the theater and ensuring its future success. Come celebrate the life that the theater has invigorated in the neighborhood and the art it brings to everyone.

Ticket proceeds will support the Capital Campaign for the Ritz Theater and its stewards, Ballet of the Dolls. All ticket donation amounts over $25 will be tax-deductible.
The mission of Ballet of the Dolls (BOD) & The Ritz Theater Foundation (RTF) is: to fearlessly create challenging and surprising performance work that brings a sense of discovery to audiences and artists alike. Ballet of the Dolls was created in 1986 by esteemed choreographer Myron Johnson.
The Ritz Theater Foundation brought Northeast Minneapolis’ Historic Ritz Theater back to life.
Renovating the Ritz Theater to create a performing arts venue in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts District brought together a company with a longstanding history of creating a “sense of place” wherever it goes and a building that has represented a neighborhood’s hopes for the future. The revitalization of the Ritz Theater–as a home for a unique contemporary dance theater company, Ballet of the Dolls, and as a venue for a variety of performing arts and community events–has simultaneously propelled and sustained commercial vitality and residential stability, cementing community identity, and provided a lively gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Your ongoing support will help to ensure that the Ritz Theater remains a hub for cultural and social activity.
