Let it snow…let it snow!

Cancelled our first show due to Mother Nature in 25 years last Saturday night. When I mentioned that lastnight in the dressing room one of the dancers quickly reminded me that we have cancelled before due to Mr. Minnesota Leather Contest (one of the dancers was the winning contestant), several times in the early years we just put a note on the front door saying “gone fishing” simply because we didn’t feel like dancing, and a few times we started VERY late because we either could not find one of the dancers or we were still sewing costumes. Never the less that’s a pretty good track record. I hope everyone who was planning on coming to the show last Saturday was able to re-schedule for another night. Mike(managing director) and Laura (front of house manager) called every patron personally on the phone to let them know the show was cancelled. So sweet! That’s very nice “customer service” if you ask me. Anyway, we all survived and last night the show went on brilliantly. I am such a Minnesotan that I actually found the whole experience wonderful and it certainly was gorgeous. Other than the giant ugly Vikings Metrodome collapsing from the weight of the snow I think the city managed the situation quite gracefully. Actually, I could dance all day, every day and not have the kind of back pain that comes from shoveling snow…OUCH! I did use my off time wisely however and began thinking about the next show…….laying in bed with a heating pad on my lower back gave me some interesting ideas for Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood. Stay tuned……
