MARCH-ing forward
Posted By myron on March 10, 2011
Well, there is NEVER snow on the ground for my birthday on the 23rd. It seems 2011 is going to be different! We’ll see…never know…surprises and miracles happen everyday.
Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood was a BLAST! Young audiences really make me happy and the post show discussions gave me tremendous hope for the future of art. The kids (mostly 3-6th grade) were so smart, funny and interested in everything from the dancers personal history to “how do I get to be part of something like this?” We are going to do young audience shows every year now. Everyone of us loved doing it. I stood in the wings and helped move set pieces so I got to watch every performance and it made me so happy to see the dedication of each dancer to perform their very best every time. The shows at 10:00 in the morning were as inspiring as the shows at 7:00 at night.
So now, the next two months are going to be very busy and exciting around here. Please check the “upcoming” on our website. Fashion Ball 2011 is a MUST see and a very important event for us. It’s the only fundraiser that we do all season and the importance of raising money to insure that we finish the year in a good place as well as secure the future for the company goes without saying. If you love what we do…. If you want to make sure we are still here……then come and have fun with us.
I also am going to team up with one of my favorite artists and good friend, Susana diPalma for a show in June based on the Salvador Dali Cookbook. What more should I have to say to get you interested in that? Me, Susana and Dali? Watch out!
I am close to finishing plans for next years season and for now I will just say this: “it is going to be full of interesting and exciting brand new entertainment.” The title for the season is “Myron & Friends- Dancing” and it will be just that. LOTS of surprising guests that I have asked to come and work with me. A year of collaborations. If the government can’t seem to come together then maybe artists have to show them (once again) how it’s done
More soon……… XO, Myron
